Eric Lipper
Eric Lipper completed his law degree in December of 1988, after graduating with honors and serving as Associate Editor of the Law Review. Eric published several articles in the area of environmental law. After completing law school, he worked for Congressman Michael A. Andrews in Washington, D.C. as a legislative assistant on defense and foreign policy issues. Since joining Hirsch & Westheimer in 1989, he has "first chaired" at least 75 jury trials in county, state, and federal district court, having handled cases in all of the counties surrounding the Houston area, as well as Dallas County. He frequently assists local real estate owners in the prosecution and defense of dry cleaner contamination matters, remediation of underground storage tanks, abandoned wells, and asbestos abatement issues.
Eric also handles environmental claims arising out of oil and gas exploration and development, including surface and subsurface contamination. He has also argued appeals before the First and Fourteenth Texas Courts of Appeal, as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, he has also handled a case before the United States Supreme Court.
