Samuel J. Blustein has been licensed to practice law in Texas since May 1981. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in December 1980, where he was an associate editor of the Houston Law Review and a member of The Order of The Barons Honor Society. Sam received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, magna cum laude, from the University of Memphis in 1975, where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Tau Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies.
He has a proven track record in representing plaintiffs and defendants, both corporate and individual parties, in a wide variety of litigation in state and federal courts, including complex business, construction, real estate, commercial, DTPA, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder, partner, trade secret, non-competition, trade dress, copyright, and family law (divorce and custody) disputes. He also consults with clients regarding a multitude of family law, business and IP-related matters, including property divisions, business valuation issues, organizational structure, business sales and acquisition, trademark, patent and other IP-related matters.
In addition to being admitted to practice law in all Texas state courts, Sam is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas and the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Fifth and Federal Circuits. He is also a registered patent attorney and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a trained mediator in civil and family law matters and a trained arbitrator.
Sam currently serves on the International Board of Governors of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and is a past director of the University of Houston Law Alumni Association and past president of the University of Memphis Greater Houston Alumni Club. He is also an active member of The Rotary Club of 288 Corridor in Pearland, Texas.
